Call for Couture-sneak preview

From the same group that brought you such great events as the Black and Blue Fair, comes the Call for Couture. This event will run from Oct 10th-31st . Designers were asked to create a limited edition couture designs that will be auctioned off and 50% of the proceeds will benefit The Samaritans , a group that offers confidential 24hour emotional support for those in need in the UK. In addition to the special couture items to be auctioned off, the designers also made some special pret a porter items that will be be available for immediate purchase. Here is just a quick preview of a couple of things you will find there.




First up this yummy Autumn Set from So Many Styles. I love fall weather and breaking out the sweaters. This cute sleeveless jumbo knit sweater with cowl neck and flared chocolate skirt are just the thing to do fall shopping in.



Also from the Call to Couture event, this Petal- Miranda skin in Champagne from !Imabee. This fair skin with fall colors that are sure to compliment many fall designs and flushed cheeks that look like the fleeting reminder of summer fun. Nerd, geek or dork?Techie Lesson #1

First, let me ask you, what's the difference between a nerd, a geek, and a dork? I googled it. My favourite answer was 'We've been called all three, and to be honest, we always assumed they meant the same thing. However, according to the cool kids, there are differences.' So there.

I thought I'd share all the techie tricks I picked up here and there from nerds, geeks and dorks :-) I'll try to blog general tricks without engaging in the mighty viewer battle. I am myself on Emergence for various reasons but I will not spit on you if you are on another one. If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to IM me inworld. So I went back to my books and notes and here we go, lesson #1. Ready?


* The 'Cloud' avatar problem
1.Show the "Advanced" menu with Ctrl-Alt-D, or Opt-Ctrl-D on a Mac.
2.Choose Advanced > Debug Settings.
3.Type renderunloadedavatar. It autocompletes.
4.Select TRUE.
5.Close the Debug Settings window and restart the Viewer.

* Matching RGB colour - for skin, feet, ears and anything else really!
How do you pick the exact colour of something you want to match up?
1.Show the "Advanced" menu with Ctrl-Alt-D, or Opt-Ctrl-D on a Mac.
2.Choose Advanced > Debug Settings.
3.Choose UI > Show Colour under cursor.
4. Your RGB colour code will appear in white at the bottom right of the screen.

Free and cheap...wonderful things to show you

I don't have much time, but I just had to jump in and tell you all about a few things real quick.

First up are these awesome eyes on sale at Damage Virtual Clothing. They are a new item Dave has created and put on sale for the LOW sale group for just 50L each. You have to see these eyes to believe them! Here are the "Damage Chance Nebula" eyes, so many colors popping out in them, and don't miss the little heart hiding in there! (Click on the photos to enlarge them!)

When you get to Damage walk inside and around the desk, then go in the door to your left and they will be right in front of you, big display on the wall. The body overlay (tattoo layer for supporting viewers) I'm wearing is a free gift from Curious Kitties, very cool and lots of fun to play with. She also has some other great gifts in the new store. And the hair I'm wearing is the 7000 member group gift from D!iva that Nicandra sent in her shopping list 163 yesterday.

I also want to tell you about the wonderful tattoo layer lashes from Unique Clothing. They are brand new and she has them out with all of her other great Unique group gifts. Ivannna has spoiled me for lashes now, I won't wear anything else! (The eyes in this photo are Damage Chance Jungle.)

One more quick free gift to tell you about. Sway has this most adorable Scuba Cookie Bear as a scribo gift. If you don't want summer to end, this is a great way to keep it hanging on a little longer. Itutu+Yumyum+Exodi

I went to go and see my friend Spirit at Itutu and they are celebrating fall with some special seasonal items being offered in a cart sale on the courtyard. With great shops like Atelier AM, KAO, Yumyum & DEN-DOU you know there are some great goodies here. Some really nice skins, costumes and hair. So be sure to check it out.

I went straight for *Yumyum*, the hair demos are so much fun and this time was no different. Not only was the demo for 24 in my color it also had demo parts attached for the special Halloween outfit Lil Devil that is one of the offerings from *Yumyum* for this fall celebration. The 24 demo includes cute little bat wings and horns with a little feather trim around them so cute I could not resist sharing it with you. All the new hairs are cute and the hair demos for the new styles also have fun demo parts from the new costumes. Other costumes include Alice, Werewolf, and Mummy.



The skin I am wearing is Isolde Vivante - 17 by :: Exodi :: . Group gift in the notices for the month of October. I really liked the berry hues of the make up. I especially like the glittery dotty eye shadow it has too. This great gift has 5 skintones, and 8 various brow and cleavage options for each skin tone. It also came with hair bases and eyelashes that I am wearing here. It is a group gift but this group isn't free. This group is 250L to join. You will get that back and then some in just this gift alone and she gives at least one gift a month. SO worth the money.

I have looked for the perfect shape for so long I nearly gave up. I was after a natural face with beautiful eyes and a modifiable shape. But yesterday, I met Sophia Rossen at Sophistishapes, bought her brand new Celine shape and I haven't stopped smiling in both lives since then. Sophia is releasing it tomorrow so this is your MD Style Watch special preview. Here is your taxi to the shop. This shape is so gorgeous on its own, I simply combined it here with my favourite Belleza skin, Maitreya hair and some Hucci booty shorts.

Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo!

The sun was bright but the wind and altitude kept temperatures well below zero. Our heads were thumping and our hearts were on overdrive with excitement. Every step felt like a small triumph. From the saddle, we walked diagonally up across a steep overhang, towards the very, very high summit. Then, after hours of trudging through the snow with crampons strapped to our boots, we reached the summit plateau. From here it was a short walk to the summit — the undisputed highest point ever.

Flash then planted the flag with a cocky grin on his face and we knew we could breathe again. The rest is history.

Snow White Hunt

The cute little dwarves (monsters!) and I had so much fun doing this hunt... We even organised a reunion, see for yourself! Cool free poses anyone?

Head over to >MZ< Animations, join the group for free, and pick up these really cool poses. Look around while you are there, I know I saw some poses I haven't really seen anywhere else! There are poses for men, women, couples, and groups. Model poses, serious poses, fun poses, crazy poses, RP poses...

Her "Lara Croft" poses are really great, double-fisting your weapons as you tumble around dodging bullets flying at you. Looking sexy no matter what position you end up in...who's never had that fantasy? *laughs* Her poses even range towards the macabre with "Boom he & she". Ever had the fantasy to sneak up behind your cheating boyfriend and blow his head off? Well now you can get a real feel for it and he'll still get to keep his brains!
